Are you having a hard time finding the right photographer for your wedding? Don't worry! I've got 3 easy steps to help you decide. Your photos will be authentic and most of all, portray you!
1. Your Style
Before you go looking for a photographer, you need to decide on your style. Which one of these jumps out at you?
Documentary: Instead of posed photos, these are more candid and spontaneous. With this style you’ll very rarely see people staring at the camera- the photos capture the moments exactly as they happen, and together they tell a story.
Portraiture: If you prefer a classic style then this is the style for you. That’s not to say there’s no room for creativity in this category. A good example of this would be a couple sitting on a lounge chair at their extravagant reception venue. Usually these photos are very dramatic (think magazine cover).
Now you can start your search by looking at reviews. Review potential photographer's websites and blogs to check out content from other events they’ve shot. This will give you an idea of their style. Also, check out their social media profiles. Is the feedback from clients positive? How does the photographer respond to comments?
And last, but absolutely not least, make sure you budget for a photographer (hint: and videographer). Brilliant photos and video cost a lot, but they last a lifetime, so it’s definitely an investment worth making. And most of these artists (like me) offer payment plans to help. Memories are priceless and high quality makes all the difference.
