Ringling Museum | Elopement Location in Sarasota, Florida

The Ringling Museum in Sarasota is my personal favorite location for an elopement, especially if you're into stunning architecture and European vibes. It mixes classic elegance with Florida's laid-back charm. With grand columns, intricate archways, and stunning courtyards, the museum's architecture steals the show and creates an unmatched romantic atmosphere.

What I love most about the Ringling is its versatility. You can exchange vows right on the grounds or use it as an incredible backdrop for photos after a beach ceremony at the nearby Lido Beach. Either way, your photos will look like they belong in an art book. If you're envisioning a day that's sophisticated and timeless, this is the place to make it happen.

Availability

• Open year-round

• Ceremony + photos = 2 total hours (10:00 AM–2:30 PM)

• About 30 minutes for the ceremony + 90 minutes for photos around the grounds

• Available Tuesday–Thursday only

Guest Count

• Standard: Up to 25 people (this number includes vendor like the officiant, photographer, musician, etc.)

• Up to 15 more guests can be added for an extra fee

• Premium Garden Ceremony (NEW): For an extra $2,200 (+ tax) you can have up to 40 guests and this option includes white chairs.

Important Notes

• Elopement photography is permitted throughout the gardens and outdoor grounds. Please note that photos are not allowed inside the museum galleries or the tower, as those spaces are reserved for full wedding events.

• Bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres are allowed.

• No outside chairs or décor can be brought in, with the exception of up to 4 chairs for guests who cannot stand for the ceremony (provided by The Ringling). Unless you do the Premium Garden Ceremony that includes up to 40 chairs.

• Receptions cannot take place on the Ringling grounds for these smaller weddings, but they do have a separate location called The Ringling Grillroom where you could have a small reception for additional costs.

Weather Plan

• All weddings are outdoors.

• If it rains, we can use the covered loggias to keep everyone dry and comfortable.

Other Things to Know

• The Ringling can’t guarantee that events, programming, or maintenance won’t overlap with your day.

• Parts of the Ca’ d’Zan terrace and campiello are closed for hurricane repairs until early 2026 (no set completion date yet).
